Our mission

My name is Patrick du Chatenier, initiator of Asser Youth Produces Music. A project in which I guide young people (mainly from welfare families) in producing electronic music.

A service that I offer for free because I believe that young people from welfare families often have no opportunities to take music lessons despite local subsidies. An certain amount of money must always be paid because the subsidies only partially reimburse the costs. Since it is difficult for these families to make ends meet, there is often no financial room for this.

Because making music, in addition to being fun to do, is also an outlet for young people to make their voices heard, it is important that young people can keep themselves busy with music.

Music is an important part of the social-emotional development of young people. Not only can they express their emotions in this, they also develop perseverance, various social skills, work in groups, problem solving skills, writing texts and creativity through making music. They can also include the technical aspects of music production as experience in their personal development.

Because this project is offered for free, there is also no financial barrier that prevents the participants from participating. Which means that this project does not generate its own income.

This makes us dependent on sponsors, gifts and donations from third parties.

This project is therefore not possible without the help of third parties and we cannot offer our target group all this for free without the help from our sponsors.

We are always actively looking for new parties so that we can continue this project in the future. Sponsors in the form of equipment, advertising material, services and finances are always welcome.

I hope that I have made you enthusiastic and that you want to help me make this project possible.
